Cathy Goodwin, Ph.D.,  is an Online Copywriter and Copywriting Strategist.  She specializes in creating a compelling online marketing presence for the discriminating service business owner who wants to combine professionalism with promotion.

Cathy brings an unusual combination of writing and business knowledge to serve her clients. As a professional writer, she has written everything from a hard-copy self-help book to feature articles for print and online media to humor and satire. She has studied copywriting with the online pros and has been a “copy coach” for Lorrie Morgan-Ferrero’s boot camps. She has been named to Lorrie’s “Top 50 Coolest Marketers” in the past two years.

With a Ph.D. in business from UC Berkeley and an MBA from the Wharton School, Cathy has in-depth knowledge of a variety of businesses and business models.  Her analytical skills allow her to create reader-friendly content for the most complex services, such as specialty law and technical software.  As her clients say, “She gets it!”

Cathy taught MBA and undergraduate business students for nearly 20 years before deciding to apply her marketing skills to an online business. Her first site focused on her lifelong passion for career coaching. She learned Internet marketing to develop her own business and began getting requests to help others.

Cathy’s websites have brought her publicity opportunities. She has been featured as a guest expert in major media, such as KQED Radio, Denver Post and WSJ Online and featured in published print books.  She is a recognized “Vine” reviewer on Amazon.com.

Originally from New York, Cathy has never lost her East Coast energy, edge or accent. Clients refer to her as “direct” and say she “gets right to the heart of things without wasting time.”

After spending 6 years in Seattle, Cathy just moved to Philadelphia to reconnect with some family and friends. She’s spending a year on the East Coast  (and maybe more) with her 2 cats, while her dog is being spoiled rotten by a foster dad in Seattle.  For fun she has been studying improv acting (no talent but lots of enthusiasm) and pottery (even less talent). She enjoys art museums, symphony, and WNBA basketball (Go Storm!)

And we have to answer just one FAQ: “Berkeley… so were you a hippie?”
A. “Hardly. The B-school has always been pretty conservative.  Drugs? The handyman once got all excited because he thought he’d found my stash. It turned out he had smoked the catnip.”
