Writing a book (or ebook)? Make these 3 decisions

by CopywritingCat on August 9, 2009 · 1 comment

Recently I came across a blog post about deciding to write a book. Read it here.

The author suggests that new writers face 3 decisions, relating to commitment to write Sounds good, but I usually recommend these decisions, especially for a nonfiction book.

  • Make a decision to explore the market. Will people read your book? Will they buy your book?
  • Make a decision to research questions your readers are asking. If you are writing an ebook, you need to appeal to buyers who are really desperate. The best single source of advice for writing and researching an ebook is Reach Desperate Buyers.
  • Make a decision to market your book before you finish writing. Hire a copywriter or book marketing coach before you hire an editor.

Definitely important to explore the market beforehand, as you don’t want a flop on your hands!
